HUNTER FOOD RELIEF CENTRE
Hunter Food Relief Centre is the brainchild and love of Georgina Grine. Seeing a desperate need for good quality wholesome meals for the countless homeless and struggling families in her local area of Kurri Kurri NSW, Georgina, together with her husband Mathew, decided that they wanted to help their community. Putting together a team of like-minded individuals, to provide meals for those less fortunate, Hunter Food Relief Centre was born in humble beginnings, with countless volunteers cooking in Georgina and Mathew's kitchen. From their home, they cooked and delivered meals to many people doing it tough throughout the Hunter Region of NSW.
With a background in the food industry, having owned several restaurants, and at times doing it tough growing up, George (as she is affectionately known) has a real passion for helping people access good quality, home-cooked meals. She feels that to feed the belly, is to nourish the soul.
And so, Hunter Food Relief Centre was born.
MISSION & HISTORY.
Our Mission is to provide access to good quality meals for people doing it tough, no matter their backstory.
From humble beginnings, Hunter Food Relief Centre starting small with an idea to cook and provide home-style meals to those less fortunate, and sleeping rough. Initially cooking from their home in Weston, Georgina and Mathew pulled together like-minded individuals who had a passion to help their community. From their home, they cooked, packaged up, and delivered meals to homeless, elderly, disadvantaged and anyone doing it tough throughout the Cessnock and Kurri Kurri regions.
